The Amazing Spider-Man Posters

I saw The Amazing Spider-Man last night and loved it so I thought I'd make some quick posters. I have never been a huge Spider-man fan and didn't think the franchise needed re-booting so soon after the last Spider-man movies, however they got this one right and proved me wrong!

In these posters I decided to illustrate some of the objects in the film that define Peter Parker and his journey. Firstly his skateboard which features quite a bit in the film, I think to make the 28 year old Andrew Garfield seem more like a high school kid and to make him look a bit cooler. Secondly, I included the 'decay rate algorithm' which is important to the overall plot of the film.

The reason this film is good is that it isn't just shots of Spider-man web swinging around the city but actually shows Peter as a relatable teenage character. It has funny moments but ultimately is a dark story about coping with death. It has a good balance between the contrasting themes of 'fantasy super hero saving the world' and 'teenage kid with real world troubles', which I think, makes the film more interesting than your average comic book film. But as always, go see it and make up your own mind!
